About:How to Buy Tickets

Hi
I will be arriving beijing on 17th March 2010 and plan to visit Xian few days later, probably on the 20~25th March.
Is this a peak travelling period?
I plan to purchase the train ticket to Xian upon arrival in Beijing. Is it possible to get the ticket? or will it be too late?
Can I purchase the return ticket from Xian in Beijing too?
Soft seater and soft sleeper - which one is recommended?
Please advise.

Hello, March is the travel high season in China, but not the peak season. However, I suggest you reserve the train tickets from both your hotel in Beijing and Xian in advance. As far as I know, most Chinese choose to travel by train instead of flight, so the train tickets are always in great demands. Moreover, I think you'd better take the soft sleeper train since the train journey takes more than 10 hours.
