Hi. Am flying to Hongkong from Singapore in Feb., and intend to pay a visit to Shantou.What is the best way from HK to Shantou ? There was a ferry service some years back. Is the service still available? Can anyone provide me the necessary info?Thanks.

No ferry service from Hong Kong to Shantou. Take bus from Hong Kong or Shenzhen. The direct bus can be found in Kai Yan Street, Kowloon Bay at 9:30 from Hong Hong and get to Shantou around 4pm. It costs 380HKD. I think it is better for you to get to Luohu, Shenzhen first. Buses are available 20 minutes from Luohu bus station to Shantou.
