Not very difficult to buy the ticket. I mean you have wait for hours to get on the train when you buy the ticket. Yes, traditionally packed during National Day, Spring Festival and other festive seasons. No special counters for tourists. Counters are open for all the people.

Thanks Mr Colins-That'll be bad if i have to queue for hrs to get on train.I read in your previous post it'll cost slightly > Rmb 200 for a taxi ride.As I'm travelling in a family of 6 ,I'll need 2 taxis. Are the larger capacity vehicles i can charter to Beijing & do you have any idea cost incurred?.Hopefully the traffic on the roads will not be as bad as the train ride?Which would be the wiser option? Train or road?

If you go directly to Beijing at the same day when you arrive at Tianjin, you can rent a vehicle just in the airport to Beijing. In fact, there are directly shuttle bus from Tianjin Airport to Beijing directly. I think that is better. If you go to Beijing the other day, you may try to buy train ticket one day before. If you plan to charter a vehile (have 7 seats), better to contact a reliable car rental compay and travel agent. It should be more expensive to take a taxi, and may cost more furing the Spring Festival. 400-500 is resonable, judt for reference.
