About:China Train

Hello,

I was hoping I could just get your opinion on travelling during Spring festival this year!
In early February I will be flying into HongKong then onto Tokyo for a few days and then back to HongKong. I was hoping to get the train from HongKong to Beijing around 12 February 2010, 2 days before Spring Festival. Do you think it will be easy for me to get a ticket (say, when I arrive in HongKong) or will it be a nightmare to travel and thus I should arrive in Beijing earlier? I will be travelling in a soft sleeper carriage.

Thank you for your help,
Best regards
Nathan

Hello, Nathan, from my own experience, you are not suggested to take the train during the Chinese public holidays, let alone the traditional and important Chinese Spring Festival, for the train tickets that period will be under great demand and it is hard to get. To make sure that your plan can go smoothly, taking flight is a good choice. Wish it helps.
