Hai, I am travelling to Taipei in Jan 2010. I would like to visit Taichung, please let me what time will it take to travel from taipei to taichung? Which is the best way to travel from taipei to taichung (Bus or train)?

I think you could take a coach supplied by Ubus from Taipei to Taichung. The coaches leave from Taipei frequently, taking 2.5 hours on the way.

Hai Hank, Thanks for ur suggestion. I would also like to know the best way to go to Taroko Gorge from Taipei. Can I take a train or Bus? How will move around after reaching Hualien, is there any tourist buses to take us to Taroko Gorge and near by places? How much will it cost? Is that possible to cover in a day? Thanks in advance..

You can take Taiwan Rail Taroko Line from Taipei to Hualien. You can find buses to Taroko in from of the HUalien Railway Station, about one hour.
