What is the best route to travel by bus or train from Yantai to Guangzhou? i.e. quickest and most comfortable either direct or with a stopover

Forget taking a bus from Yantai to Guangzhou, since the distance between these two cities is no less than 2,000kms. And, currently, there is only one train running from Yantai to Guangzhou, taking about 36 hours on the way, So, you'd better fly to Guangzhou directly.
