You may apply for a white card status. You may need an immigrant officer todo tha. that is you deposit your Passport officially with the Chinese authorities and only come back for it when you are ready to leave china. They'll issue you a paper to get around with.By that way you may get to stay for as long as you wish. but you must be able to sustain yourself somehow by getting a job or get your air ticket ready and return for a ten dday visa to leave. this is ok in Macao and in some citiesin china but i'ts generaly hard to come by.
