Both at Suzhou Bus Station and Suzhou North Bus Station, there are frequent buses departing to Hangzhou East Bus Station and Hangzhou North Bus Station respectively. The journey is just 2 hours and takes 70RMB. There is no strict limitation on baggages, and the bus has enough space to store them.

No, you don't have to purchase it in advance. The bus tickets could be purchase when you arrive there on the spot. Please take it easy that there are frequent buses in operation then.
