Hi...I would like to ask if it is possible to go out of the airport of Guangzhou since me and my husband have a 16-hour stop-over in the airport on our way back to Norway...We are just thinking of staying in the hotel for the night...Do we need to apply visa even though it is for only less than 24 hours?  Are we allowed to go out of the airport?  Thanks

You are not allowed to go out of airport, you can only stay in the airport transit area for less than 24 hours, once you can't satisfy these conditions, you have to apply for a Chinese transit visa.
