About:Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am hold Australian Permenant Residence on a Sri Lankan passport and living in Australia.
China embassy in Australia (melbourne) says, I am not able to get Tourist Visa to China as I have Australian PR and holding a SL passport.
Can someone shed some light on this matter? Is there any VISA restrictions to Sri Lankans?
Do I have to apply to the Chinese embassy in SL to get the Visa?
For your information --> We have done all the bookings in HK and China as well and we just visit these two countries while visiting Sri Lanka from Australia.

Thanks in Advance, Bimal

In principal, you have the Australian Permanent Residence, you are allowed to apply for Chinese visa in Australia. I have much sympathy for you. I think that the Chinese visa issurance is tightened owing to the 2010 Shanghai Expo. I hear that many aliens who overstayed in Guangzhou was deported.

I went to the embassy again today and they say we don't give you visa and we will not give any reason. I feel like I am really discriminated. I have an immaculate travel history, full time job and Australian PR, yet I cannot enter china because I hold a SL passport. I thought China is a friend of Sri lanka. I am going to take this up with all my media contacts in Sri Lanka and Australia.
