About:Shopping in Guangzhou

Hi,

I am planning to go to Guangzhou from HK during Christmas for shopping. Few questions:

1) Will the shops be close during christmas period?
2) Thinking of staying either near the Guangzhou railway station (as there are alot of wholesale outlets) or near Shangxia Jiu Road. Please advise which is better area to stay in.
3) Where is Zhuangyuan Fang located?
4) How do I get to Shenzhen from Guangzhou?

for your questions:
1. no, they are not closed
2. Shangxijiu is better
3. Zhuangyuanfang is a old lane between Renmin Nanlu and Tiancheng Lu, nearby Shangxiajiu.
4. Guangzhou to Shenzhen: Faster way: by train from either Guangzhou Railway Station or East Railway Station to Shenzhen one hour later. It takes 2 hours or so by bus and major bus stations all have buses to Shenzhen.

Thanks Jerry for the info provided.
I am planning to stay at Guangdong Victory hotel. Heard quite good reviews on it. Is it convenient to travel to Shangxiajiu from the hotel?

What other sight-seeing places do you recommend to visit in Guangzhou? I am planning a short trip of 2 days.

Hi, Mr Kong, the hotel is close to Shangxiajie, if you are not in hurry, you can just walk there, over ten minutes. As to other sightseeing in Guangzhou, get can get to Huangsha Subway Station nearby and take Subway Line 1 to Gongyuanqian Station. In this area, there are Beijing Road, north from there, there are Yueziu Park, YUexiu Mountain, Sun Tat Sen Memorial Hall, Liurong Temple and Guangxiao Temple.
