About:China Embassy in Thailand

Hello, my husband and I have been travelling for 6 months. We will be in Thailand before travelling to China. We do not have a work permit in Thailand. Can we obtain a tourist visa while we are in Bangkok? We don't plan to go to Hong Kong or Macau.
Also, we will travel into China overland and leave by the trans-siberean. Will we have trouble obtaining the visa without a round trip airline ticket?

Thank you

In principal, you should have a valid work permit or valid Thai visa or residence permit of Thailand, then you can apply for Chinese visa in Bangkok, but you has travelled for 6 months and you are Canadians, generally speaking, the visa policy for developping countries is less stricter than other countries, you can have a try, but the final decision is up to visa officer.
