About:Embassy & Consulates of Philippines in China

Hi!hope you can help me. I am working here in Beijing and have a residence permit which will expire on February 08, 2010. I am planning to go to the Philippines to celebrate Christmas on the 24th of December (Thursday) and go back here in Beijing on the 27th (Sunday). My questions are (1) Do I still need to register as Balik - Manggagawa and secure an Exit clearance from the POEA? (2) Will there be no problem entering China again if I have that residence permit? Thank you so much.

I'm not clear about the policy of POEA about OFA, but I know that the residence permit is another kind of visa on your passport, generally speaking, you can enter China by holding it. However, I read a news that a Finnish woman is refused to enter Shanghai at Pudong airport by holding a Shanghai residence permit. The Pudong airport immigration officer said that residence permit is not equal to visa. She should apply for a Chinese visa. For safety, you can go to the local public security bureau to apply for a multiple entry work visa.
