Will be traveling to hong kong, beijing, xian, shanghai, with a 13yr old boy and wife. Have roughly 4 weeks at the end of may through middle of june. we typically travel without making reservations. do you think at that time of year we should attempt to make our reservations ahead of time, or can we just go and let our travels determine the itinerary?

Hi, there is the labour day during your traveling, thus the tickets and the hotels may hard to book. As you have settled the time, why not have a prebook. I think it will save you a lot of money and time. By the way, you'd better have a plan of your journey!
