About:Chinese Embassy in Singapore

I am a foreign student, holding Cambodian passport and a Student Pass in Singapore. My bf's parents have invited me to visit China in February next year (less than 14 days) and i will be staying over my bf's house. He is now currently staying in Singapore with me here, also holding a Student Pass.
I wonder if i can ask his parents to write me an invitation letter as a proof of residential location instead of the hotel reservation? or is it a must to have the hotel reservation under this any condition? And lastly, can i just apply the Chinese Visa in Singapore?

Best Regards

You can ask your Bf's parents to provide you an invitation letter instead of the hotel booking. You may apply for the China vis ain Singapore, since you should have a Singaporean residence permit as a student there.
