We'll be in Shanghai from 28th Nov - 5th Dec 2009.Our first destination is Hangzhou. How far is Hangzhou away from Shanghai? Is there anyexpress train or bus to Shanghai? Do we have to book in advance? Pls advise. Thank you.

If you take the express train, it's only about 1.5 hours from Shanghai to Hangzhou. There are several express trains every day at different time. Considering your travel dates are not the train travel peak season, you needn't book in advance. You can go to the railway station early and purchase the tickets on the spot.
