About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

I am from Canada and will be on a South Asia cruise in March 2010. Before cruising i will spend couple days in Beinjing. Our cruise will stop at Shanghai,Hong Kong. Do I need a visa for those places and for how long the visa can be deliver by the embassy? 15 days? 3 months?

I think you need a visa to Beijing. You can apply for it when you are in Canada. Shanghai and Hong Kong are included in your cruise, I think the cruise ship company will arrange the visa for you if you need the visa in Shanghai and Hong Kong. As I know, Canadians enjoy 90 days visa free access to Hong Kong. The embassy just needs 4 working days for visa processing.
