I am coming to China with wife and kids - 11 years and 5 years for 4-5 days. Which are the places where kids will enjoy and also have some good shopping malls.

Will you come to Beijing. I think kids do not like history, so historical places will not be their interests. You can take them to some amusement park such as Beijing Happy Vally. For some good shopping malls, suggest u go to Wangfujing Street. There are many good stores.
