About:Chinese Embassy in Singapore

I had just returned from Tokyo from a business trip on Saturday thinking that I will have more than sufficient time to process my China visa for trip purchased on 18th Nov. I made my way to China embassy today and was surprised, not to mentioned, extremely disappointed and shocked to find out today that China embassy in Singapore will be closed from Tuesday (10th Nov) till next Mon (16th Nov) as it meant that visa cannot be ready till 18th Nov 9am which means I have to miss my flight! I understood that it will be closed due to APEC. Despite my explanation with trip itinerary, hotel accomodation and e-ticket, my request and begging to collect on Nov 17th Nov afternoon was flatly rejected. I was told to re-schedule my flight instead or I can leave without applying for visa. Perhaps the officer attending to me does not realized that it is not so simple as it does not only involve additional cost but re-juggling of schedules. I am sure there are many like me who are left shocked and some stranded with lots of inconvenience due to this close down due to an APEC event!

You could ask the China Embassy in Singapore to issue you an proof of not being able to process your visa in Singapore, and then you may get an China visa on arrival with the proof.

Mr Owen. Thank you for your kind advice. Wished I had known this earlier. I can't do much now as the embassy in Singapore is closed till next week. I will take your advice should I encounter the same issue in the future.
