About:Jiuzhaigou National Park

Hi,
Been reading up materials on juizhaguo in winter and its high altitude.
Wonder if its altitude will affect any normal healthy person cos I will be there at the end of Dec. with my 4year old for a holiday of fun in the snow. What percaution must I make for the trip to ensure a lovely time in the snow.

Hello, Ms.lydia.
It may be a challenge for your 4-year-old. Actually, a safer place is available for you for a holiday of fun in the snow: Harbin. You may check about that.

Hi Ms Watson,
Thank you for your reply and suggestion. I can't change the venue now as we have already booked for the tour.. Looks like we have to make the best out of it.I presume you are residing in China and would appreciate very much if you can give me some useful advice to make our trip an enjoyable one.

You should be ok regarding altitude. If it is a problem there is oxygen containers available at the park's medical centre. The day times can be very warm when they have blue skies - bring sun glasses, the glare off the snow can be very bright. Just dress for cold. Thermals, hats, scarves, gloves etc.

Zero degrees is not so bad. Other northern places get to -20!! That's cold.
