About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

I currently have a valid residence permit, and I will quit my job soon. I won't be looking for another job, can I stay in China until the expiration of residence permit?

I currently have a valid residence permit, and I will quit my job soon. I won't be looking for another job, but I want to stay in China until my residence permit expires, it's still valid for almost 8 months. Also, during this period I will leave China and come back once or twice. Could there be any difficulties?
Thanks!

If your present Chinese employer won't notice the local public security burau to make your residence expired, ther won't be any proble, I think.

If your employer notify the local public bureau, your residece permit will be cancelled, and you will be not able to enter China again with it, you will have to apply for a visa.
