About:Guangzhou Attractions

Hi, will be traveling to Guangzhou in Dec for 3-4 days, after that need to be in Shantou. How to reach Shantou from Guangzhou ? by bus, taxi or ? how long does it takes and what is the charges? Thank you

hello Ms. Jess. Welcome to Shantou. I have been living in GZ for 5 years while my hometown is Shantou. However, I should remind u that shantou is not a city as morden as GZ. It means you should ask your friend wait for you at bus station while u reach ST. And the bus sometime don't stop at the bus staiton, but other place. So take care plz. is train is comfortable???

It is around 530km by rail and 450-470km by road between Guangzhou and Shantou, so it will be very pricey to take a taxi or car to travel.

Apart from the trains (it is relatively comfortable), there are frequent buses to Shantou at Guangzhou Tianhe Bus Station. Bus fare is CNY175 per person.
