I do not suggest you take too much cash with you. While it is easy to withdraw money (Chinese Yuan) from ATM machines and the 24-hours self-help service is available when you are in China. You can also exchange your currency to Chinese Yuan at the airports, your hotels or the banks, which is very convenient.
