About:Stone Forest

I am going to Kunming next week. Is it possible to visit the Stone Forest on our own by public transport? Is there a direct bus from the City centre? Please advise. Thank you.

Many minibus run from Kunming to Stone Forest. You can take it from Long Distance Bus Station near Kunming Railway Station.

You can rent a cab to take you to Stone Forest and then take you back to the airport. The round trip cost might be CNY200-300. Remember to bargain. It takes 1.5 to 2 hours from the airport to the Stone Forest. Taking a cab is the fastest way. You may spend around 2 hours inside the Stone Forest. In all, you need 6 to 7 hours.

Or you can catch a cab from the airport to Nanyao Bus Station (南窑客运站). It costs around CNY 20. Then you can take tourist bus to Stone Forest. Bus fare: around CNY 26. Time: 1.5 to 2 hours. You can get back to the airport by the same way.
