About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Dear Person,
Can I get visas that would allow my family of five to stay for two years?
I am an American who has been living with my wife and three children in Japan for six years. I would like to move to China for two years in order for my three children to learn the Chinese language and culture. I hope to put them in an public school in Beijing.
regards,
William

It is hard for you to get a two-year visa. You can find a job in China first and apply for a work visa, after you get the work visa, then your family can also apply for work visa as the dependants, after arriving in China, you can your family can apply for Temporary Residence Permit, valid for 2 year, 3 years , etc, according to your work contrct.

Thank you for your quick response. If I understand you the only alternative is to get a job (like teaching) to get a visa that is good for more than 30 days.
