About:Chinese Embassy in Germany

I am traveling to HK this week with a Russian friend. We plan to go to Shenzhen for one day to visit a friend of ours there. I know that as a German I don't need a visa but does he (Russian) need a special visa to enter Shenzhen?

Thanks

Mr.Jonas, as I know, both of German and Russian need a visa to Shenzhen. Can you tell me why don't you are exempt from a visa to Shenzhen? Shenzhen entry ports can issue a special tourist visa permitting aliens stay in Shenzhen for 3 - 5 days.
