Unfortunately I believe your train ticket will not allow you to make stops en route, because each ticket is for a particular train, on a particular date (and in a particular seat). So you'll need to buy several different tickets for each leg of your journey if you wish to stop en route- but as tickets are priced by distance travelled, you probably won't have to pay much more in total (in fact probably almost the same as one long ticket). For daytimes, buy hard seat to enjoy locals' company and low prices. For night time trips, buy hard sleeper- actually quite comfortable and not too expensive. Have a nice trip!
