How far is the drive from Yichang to Shanghai?

Nobody ever think of driving from Yishang to Shanghai. It is too long a journey to drive. The distance between the two cities is more than 1800 kilometers. I think normal travelers would feel exhausted and it surely will be more expensive than flight. Why do you prefer the land transfer?0
