I think you need the following documents to apply for a China L tourist visa in Thailand.
1. Applicant's passport with blank pages and at least 6 months validity left before expiration.
2. A truly and completely filled application form affixed with one passport-sized photo.
3. Round-trip air ticket
4. Hotel reservation.
5. valid Thailand visa or entry record.

Please tell me the purpose of coming to China, for business? If you go to China for business, you should apply for Business visa, the company should send you an Invitaion letter with the stamp of the company, and original Visa Notice Sheet issued by an authorized government departmnet, such as Office of Foreign Affairs.

As far I know, from September, applicants should apply for Chinese visa in their own country. It seems that it is hard to get a Chinese visa in a third country even though you have the residence permit in a third country. You can have a try, good luck!
