About:China Train

I'm planning to go Shanghai from Hangzhou, should I book the train ticket in advance or I can just go to the train station and buy on the departure date?

Hell, Ms. Ryv. When will you be in Shanghai? Are you going to arrive in advance? I think it's best to go to the ticket office to buy the tickets directly just after you arrive in Shanghai. Usually train tickets can be got 5-7 days ahead. And sometimes 10 days are allowed.
