About:Embassy & Consulates of Malaysia in China

I'm Malaysian married to a Chinese in China. I will be going back to Malaysia and I will bring my wife to Malaysia as well.

1.What are the documents needed for my wife to bring for us to register in Malaysia?

2.Do I need to get any documents from the Malaysian Embassy in China?

3.If I need to go Malaysian Embassy, it is a MUST to go "Kunming" as my wife is from Baise, Guangxi Provience.

We are currently in Nanning.

I need to ask your some question, then I can answer your question. Have you and your wife made marriage registration in China?

Yes, if you go to Malaysia embassy, you should go to the Consulate General of Malaysia in Kunming because Guangxi is under its jurisdiction.

Just an update of what I did preparing documents for my wife to stay in Malaysia.

1. Marriage Certificate to be translated into English at the city or town of marriage (2-3 days)

2. Authentic Verification by Chinese Gov. at Capital City of province, which I think it will be sent to Beijing (7-10 Days)

3. Authentic Verification by Malaysia Consulate at respective Embassy branch (depending where your spouse is from) (3 Days)

4. Apply for a Malaysian Social Visit Visa (Single Entry) while you're there (1 day)

5. Back in Malaysia, re-register your marriage in any JPN (which does marriage registration) with the document which was done in China, Malaysian Ic & PRC Passport. (10-30 minutes)

6. Get an application form for Social Visit Pass "Wife of Citizen" (6 Months) at Immigration Office (PRC & NIGERIA AT PUTRAJAYA ONLY) and go HOME to complete the form and other stuff. This will take some time for preparation. Just make sure everything is done and submitted before your spouse's visa expires (30 Days)

7. Submit application form with supporting documents and payments. There your spouse will require an extention of visa (bridging visa) which cost about RM100 for another 30 days. The process takes about a month to get it done.

8. A month later, go back to the immigration office and collect your spouse's visa and you're done.

This process of mine was during October 2009 - December 2009.

Hope my experience will help people who faced the same problem I once had.
