I am  going to Shanghai and Hangzhou on 9 Dec 2009 to 17 Dec 2009. Can you tell me the weather then. Is it winter ? What kind of clothing to wear . TQ

Yes, it is in winter and the average temperature is about 5-6 C. Quite cold for you from Malaysia, I suppose. Bring sweater and jacket.
