About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

I am planning to apply for a chinese visa from the embassy in Bangkok. Does anyone know what documentaion I will need to do this. I will be booking a flight into the country closer to the time and already have a return flight from Beijing to London as part of a round the world flight. Thanks Hannah.

Why not apply for the China visa in England? i think you will need the following documents to apply for a China tourist visa in Thailand:
(I) The original passport with a validity more than six months and enough blank visa pages;
(II) One copy of completed visa application form in Chinese or English (two copies for US citizens), attached with one of the applicant's recent colorful front pictures of upper body (30mm X 40mm)
(III)the certification of the your identity, round-trip (vehicle, ship) ticket, travel check or bank saving statement.

I can only apply in the UK up to 3 months before I go to China and I will be travelling around the world for 7 months before I reach there so will have to apply from another country.
Is my birth certificate a certificate of my identity or is there something else I can use?
