I am going to Guangzhou Mid Oct 2009, probably will stay 1-2 days before continue our journey to Kunming-Dali-Lijang-Shangri-La-Chengdu. Can you advise which area have the most backpacker lodge and how to get there? Any recommendation on budget guesthouse/lodge?What is the best option to reach Kunming? Thank in advance. ^___^

Well, you could book a youth hostel in Guangzhou. Fromg Guangzhou to Kunming, please take a flight. Although there are trains running between them, the journey takes over 25 hours.
