About:China Tourist Visa

I'm Maldivian, I'm a holder of Maldivian passport. Now I am in Bangkok,Thailand for tourism. Next I would like to visit my sister in Xi'an, China. Can I apply visa from Thailand/ Which kind of visa should I apply/ Do I need to have return ticket (I wanted to visit Thailand again after finish China trip)/ Which route of return ticket should I have, can I take route Xian-Bangkok.

Now I hear that the non-thai applicants should provide the residence permit or work permit which permits them stay in Thailand for a long time. But you can use your valid Thai visa to have a try. the return ticket is required, you can take the route Xian to Bangkok.
