About:Chinese Consulate in Melbourne

My sister is currently studying in beijing and i want to visit her and I am planning to stay at her dorm, do I need still need to provide travel itinerary and where I am staying?
does she needs to write letter or any proof that she's currently studying at BLCU?

You don't need to provide your travel itinerary, but you need write that you will stay at your sister's dormitory and you will go to Beijing on the visa application. Your sister should issue you an Invitation Letter, the copy of her passport and her student visa or temporary residence permit.
