About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

Hi Sir,

Just making an inquiry about Visas: i am flying to Sydney from Munich (rtn to sydney) via Shanghai, and my traven agent tells me i need a visa, even tho my halt is only 4hrs in transit. Your webpage informs me otherwise, i would like to know directly so that there is no more confusion on the matter. Your time is greatly appreciated. Please contact me as soon as is convenient.

Visas are not required for Australians who transit through Pudong Airport or Hongqiao Airport of Shanghai, provided they hold valid passports, visas for the onward countries, final destination tickets and have booked seats, and stay in Shanghai for less than 48 hours.
