About:Chinese Embassy in Belgium

Dear sir,
I am Ph.D student in Belgium. I have Iranian nationality. I have a paper in a conference in China. What documents should I prepare for Visa. According to your web site, the application form, passport, one picture and reservation ticket of plane are necessary. I have an invitation letter from conference chair as well. Are these documents enough? However, today I came to consular Office of China’s embassy with these documents, the consular officer asked me for something else like official invitation letter from consular of affairs, Ministry of foreign of affairs. Can you please tell me what that is? and what should I ask the conference chair to send for me? please note that my conference is in Shanghai and conference chair is in Shanghai as well.

Thanks
