yes, Ecuadorians require visa to visit China. You can't apply for the tourist visa at the airport upon arrival. The visa-on-arrival is very hard to get, please read the Visa on Arrival (Visa Issued at Entry Ports) on this website https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa/service.htm

Mr Robert,

Many thanks for your advice. Can I ask the Ecuadorian Embassy in China to give me some kind of support to get an invitation letter issued by Chinesse authorities?

Looking forward of seeing your feedback.

Rgards,

Esthela

Ms.Esthela Zambrano, you can have a try. However, as far as I know, the invitation letter should from your partner, friend or family members in China.

The Ambassador Mr. Washington Hago never helps...and if you give them a letter from the embassy they will require stamps and harder procedures...better to ask a friend or a hotel or something..
