About:China Train

I will be going to nanjing via shanghai. after i arrive in shanghai i will immediately proceed to nanjing. Do i need to book my train tickets in advance or i can just show up at the train station and buy my tickets? I plan to take the D trains. Which train station should I go to? Thank you for the help

There are many D trains from Shanghai to Nanjing. You can just buy the tickets after you show up the station. You need to go to the Shanghai Railway Station. And there are specialized ticket windows at the station selling D train tickets.
