About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

I am an Australian citizen working in Japan. I have a one year visa which expires in December. So I won't have a re-entry permit as I am not coming back to Japan.

I intend to leave Japan in November and travel to china by boat. After travelling through China, I will cross to Vietnam.
Do I need the actual boat ticket to apply for the tourist visa?
Do I need to show a hotel booking?

Since I will travel overland out of China, I don't have an onward ticket. Do I need to show my ticket from Vietnam to Australia? Thankyou.

Yes, you'd better prepare the actual boat ticket and the hotel booking, and ticket from Vietnam to Australia to enhance the success of visa application.
