About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

hello,
i am travelling in russia and wish to go to china next, do i still need a letter of invitation or has this been scrapped.

i also heard that i could not apply in moscow though i have also heard this was scrapped.

all information would be appreciated

If you will just travel to Chian for sightseeing, no invitation letter is needed.You can apply for the China visa from the Chinese embassy in Moacow before, but now the policy changed, China embassy has stopped issuing visa to aliens in a third country.
