About:Embassy & Consulate of South Africa in China

Hi.
I'm a South African citizen who's currently working in China. I'm going home for a 2 month holiday in December. I plan to take my Chinese friend with me for the holiday. She has all the necessary documentation from my family (host family) as well as the relevant Chinese paperwork.
The one problem is that my parents are flat out refusing to disclose their bank details (bank statement) for fear of having the money disappear.
They have had their Standard Bank manager write a letter guaranteeing that both are registered account holders at the bank, but I'm worried it's not going to be good enough for the authorities in Beijing.
Any suggestions, advice or reccomendations glady accepted.
Ahundredthousandthankyou's

Yes, I don't think the guarantee letter is accepted by the visa officers at the Embassy of South Africa in Beijing.
