About:Chinese Embassy in Philippines

Hello good day!

I am a graduate student from the University of the Philippines. I was invited to present a paper in a conference to be held at the Nottingham University in Ningbo on September 16-18, 2009. I was informed by the conference organizer that my official letter of invitation will arrive in 3 to 5 days' time. I am afraid that waiting for the letter of invitation will leave me little time to apply for a visa since I saw in the website that the Chinese Embassy in Makati takes about 4 working days to process a visa application. I will be entering China with a Student F Visa since the conference that I am gonna attend would not last a week.

I am wondering if I can apply for a visa by the time I arrive at Shanghai Airport. If this will be allowed, how much do I have to pay and can they expedite my visa application request in an hour or two or Im stuck at the airport for a day or two.

Thanks!

Very truly yours,

Lucio
