With the commencement of the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway, the Beijing South Railway Station began its official operations last August. Meanwhile, the Beijing Railway Station has abandoned all 'D' initial trains linking Beijing and Tianjin; seven pairs of CRH (China Railway High-speed) trains from Beijing to Shanghai, Qingdao and Jinan have been shifted from Beijing Railway Station to Beijing South Railway Station.
