About:Former Residence of Lu Shaoxu

I have a tourist visa for 1 month. so as soon as i get to china i will register..then before the visa expires i apply at the Entry and Exit Department right? is it ok if i change my visa to Business Visa? or can i get a new tourist visa..and when that new tourist visa expires can i apply again? so i could continue applying for a new visa when the current one expires? i plan on staying for 6 months at most...thanks

Mr.jay, generally speaking, it is easy to get a new visa at the Entry and Exit Department when the current one expires however, it is hard to get another new visa. I'm afriad you can't stay in China for 6 months.

but if its hard..then can i just continue on renewing my tourist visa or can only renew for 1 time? thanks

You don't have to do any registration after you enter China with a toruist visa, but you are right that you have to apply fo the extension of your stay from the local public security bureau before your duration period ends. You can apply for a new tourist visa after your present one expires.

You can just apply for a visa in China for twice at most, but you can apply for a visa unlimited times out of China.
In a word, you can't stay in China without leaving by renewing your tourist visa again and again.
