About:Chinese Embassy in UAE

I am a British Citizen travelling to China next month for the 7th time on Family visit,my wife is a Chinese National.I have never required a no objection letter from my company before,is this a recent requirement?,I last visited in April 2008.

Maybe it is a recent requirements, Please visit this website http://ae.china-embassy.org/eng/lsyw/1/t524155.htm Chinese visa type and basic requirements realeased in November 28, 2008. You'd better prepare it.
