About:China Visa

I have an indian passport. I was in china previously studying medicine for 5 years. Now I am back in india. My passport is valid upto 2013. And there are quite a few blank pages left in it so the passport shouldn't be a problem. I wanna go there and stay in Dalian at my indian friend's home for 2 months. He will be sending me the invite for coming and staying at his rented home. What documents do i need to show at the embassy? Since I wont be staying at a hotel and how much balance should i have in india to have a chinese visa? They will be giving only a one month tourist visa in india, is there any way to extend my visa in china after going there for atleast another month? How much money should i have in a bank account there to extend my visa?

You need the following documents:
1. Application form which should be filled appropriately and authentically.
2. Applicant's passport valid for at least six months with at least 2 blank visa pages.
3. One recent passport size photograph.
4. One Passport photocopy.
5. Photocopy of a confirmed return air ticket
6. Visiting relatives should have invitation from their relatives in China and photocopies of their relatives’ Residence Permits in China.
7. Applicants may be requested to supply proof of travel expenses (about 100 Us dollars per day).
You can extend your duration in China from the Local Public Security Bureau.You must have an amount of 100 Us dollars per day n your bank account when applying the extension.

Are the rules same for visiting friends and visiting relatives? Since I will be staying at their appartment and not hotel so obviously I wont have hotel reservation. Will I have to produce any paper's for staying at their appartment?

The rules for visiting friends are almost the same as visiting the relatives.
Considering your condition, you may ask your friend to provide you an invitation letterinstead of the ho tel booking.
