I am from Singapore and I am trying to locate my father village in Xianyu. He pass away many years. I understand my grandfather village was making basket and hats. Any village doing this today in Xianyu? Names of the villages? Where can I locate the name of my grandfather and father in xianyu villages? The surname is Teo and Tan. Are there a temple or office I can find their names in Xianyu?

There is a Tantou Village in Shicang Town of Xianyou. I have no idea whether you mean this or not. Xianyou, the whole county is well known as a town of crafts, many towns and villages has basket, hats, similar crafts making places.

It is a good starting point to explore anyway.If I were to arrived in Xiamen Airport at noon,what are the charges for taking a car to Putian city for 3 person,types of car and the time it takes to arrive Putian. Is it using highway to Putian? How far is Xianyou from Putian city. Do you know where I can search for ancestor info in xianyu ? Thanks

Hi, will you rent a cab? If so, you could contact with the bus company for the price. Yes, these two cities are linked with expressway, which takes you about 2 hours. For public transportation, please take a taxi from the airport to Songbai Bus Station in downtown Xiamen. It is about 15 minutes witha fare of around 20RMB> Here, you could catch a bus to Putian directly in 2 hours. The bus fare is 50RMB/person.The expressway distance from Putian to Xianyou is about 50kms which takes you about one hour by coach. The Putian bus station has frequent coaches to Xianyou everyday. The fare is just 10/12RMB per person.Well, you may ask help from Xianyou's Public Security Bureau or Civil Affairs Bureau. Of course, please supply some clues for the office!
