About:Embassy & Consulates of U.S.A. in China

My Chinese Lady and I have submitted K-1 Visa application. US Embassy in Guangzhou requests she have at her interview an "unmarried certificate". Can you tell me what this is and how she gets one?

Unmarried certificate is the Single Status Certificate, she can get it from a local public notary office, then take it verified by the Foriegn Affiares office, last take it authenticated by the US Consulate in Guangzhou.
